  1. How do I know you are a company to be trusted?
  1. Based and conducting business locally for over 20 years Ideal Home Improvements will work efficiently on your project, promising value for money with a high standard of finish and craftsmanship. As an Environment Agency-accredited supplier, we will safely dispose of your waste, meeting local authority requirements. Our team of craftsmen are all Employment Background Checked by the police force, to ensure peace of mind for all parties. All of our representatives are comprehensively insured for public liability. Feel free to meet previous clients and their projects for a legitimate full appraisal, the proof is in the pudding.
  1. What are your terms?
  1. Please talk to us about the payment terms of your project, as these can be tailored to suit your needs. Please note, we do request prompt payment within 30 days of invoice, and reserve our statutory right to charge interest to late payers, under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  1. How long will the work take?
  1. This is all dependent on what project you have chosen us to undertake, for example: a new loft conversion will take between six to eight weeks, a complete interior decorating will take one to three weeks, and to build an outstanding new decking platform in your garden will take two days – two weeks respectively. We will give you a start and finish date at the beginning of a new job, and will always endeavour to complete within that time-frame.
  1. Can you give me any assurance that the job will be carried out to a high standard?
  1. Yes we can! Our tradesmen hold the relevant certificates and qualifications to safely work in your home, we have full public liability insurance, and are also members of the Medway Fair Traders Scheme, which vets our work and monitors our tradesmen. You can also ask to see our extensive portfolio of previous work, and even arrange to see it in person too!
  1. I have to work during the day; can I trust your company to be in my home without supervision?
  1. Yes you can; we perform an enhanced CRB police check on all of our team members, from the labourers to the management; we are all verified as safe to work in schools and hospitals, so rest assured we are a safe choice to have working in your home.
  1. Will the work be very messy?
  1. Unfortunately you cannot avoid all of the mess that a project could cause, but we certainly keep on top of it to the best of our ability, providing dust sheets, floor coverings, dust curtains and the removal of all waste from the site.
  1. Will the work be disruptive to my neighbours?
  1. We always endeavour to start and finish a day’s work at the guideline times set by the council for your area, generally between 7.30am and 5pm. We will always be courteous to your neighbours under any circumstances.
  1. Do I need planning permission for my desired project?
  1. This is dependent on what building project you wish to undertake, the location and any restrictions laid down by your local council/neighbours etc. We will give you the guidance you need on acquiring permits and permissions on your project.
  1. What happens if a dispute over the work arises?
  1. To date, we have not had to deal with this problem, but if in the unlikely circumstances it did occur, then we can offer a conciliation service through the Medway Fair Trader Scheme, so both parties involved can avoid costly legal proceedings.
